A possible coronavirus exposure occurred in Kokkola in the lobby of the shopping center Chydenius — no new coronavirus cases

Monday 5th of July 2021 a possible coronavirus exposure occurred in Kokkola in the lobby of the shopping center Chydenia between 10 am and 7 pm.

We ask anyone who may have visited a potential exposure place to observe themselves for symptoms and not hesitate to seek out coronavirus testing.

During a potential exposure situation, it is enough to follow the coronavirus recommendations, i.e. minimize the number of close contacts and avoid unnecessary social gatherings, use a protective mask, maintain a safety distance of 2 meters and maintain good hand hygiene. Book an appointment for coronavirus testing if you get even only mild symptoms.

If you have interacted with a person who has been exposed to coronavirus, but not with a person who has contracted coronavirus disease, then it is enough to observe your condition at home and follow the coronavirus recommendations. If a person has been exposed to coronavirus, Soite will call them.

The current situation of infection

No new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Soite’s area during the past week. The latest case was confirmed on 8th of June 2021. The regional incidence is currently 0/100 000 citizens in 14 days. One person who has been infected with the coronavirus is cared for at the Central Ostrobothnia Central Hospital (updated 6th of July 2021).

Let’s maintain the region’s exceptional coronavirus situation by following the hygiene recommendations, the regional recommendations and by seeking out coronavirus testing even if you have only mild symptoms indicative of coronaEven people who have already received the vaccine must seek out testing if they get symptoms. Coronavirus vaccines effectively prevent virus infections and virus secretion and the spread of infections, but do not completely eliminate the risk of getting or spreading an infection: even a vaccinated person may potentially infect others. Coronavirus vaccination offers protection especially against serious forms of coronavirus disease.

All reginal regulations and recommendations are listed on Soite’s corona web site.

Updates regarding the coronavirus situation

Soite’s coronavirus task group has begun their summer break and their next meeting is on 5th of August unless the regional coronavirus situation changes significantly.

During July, we inform about the coronavirus situation every Monday by updating the situational picture as well as the corona vaccination indicator on Soite’s corona web site.

We publish additional information about the coronavirus situation only if it changes significantly.
