Soite’s area transfers to the acceleration phase of the coronavirus epidemic
The Central Ostrobothnia regional COVID-19 group of authorities had an extra meeting on Monday 7th of June 2021 in order to assess the regional situational picture and the regional recommendations. The group of authorities decided that Soite’s area transfers to the acceleration phase of the coronavirus epidemic. This leads to some changes in the regional recommendations.
The number of new coronavirus cases has quickly begun to decrease. 29 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Soite’s area in the past 14 days and the incidence is currently 37.7/100 000 citizens in the area. A majority of the new coronavirus cases are confirmed in persons who are already in quarantine. Last week (week 22) approximately 1350 coronavirus tests were taken and the share of positive results was 0.4%. One person who has been infected with the coronavirus is cared for at the Central Ostrobothnia Central Hospital.
Soite’s area transfers to the acceleration phase of the coronavirus epidemic after decision by the group of authorities. The regional recommendations are mostly kept unchanged, but they are eased regarding hobbies as well as public spaces maintained by municipalities. The recommendations regarding gatherings and changes in coronavirus recommendations are as follows:
- It is recommended that private gatherings of over 10 people are not arranged indoors. When it comes to private gatherings outdoors, the recommendation is that no more than 20 persons gather. It is recommended that masks are used indoors and that safe distances are maintained.
- It is recommended that hobbies in groups are moved outdoors.
- Hobbies for adults are allowed in groups of at most 10 people indoors and at most 20 people outdoors.
- Group activities for children and young people is allowed indoors in groups of 20 at most and outdoors in groups of 50 at most.
- Safe distances (2 meters) should still be maintained indoors.
- It is recommended that contact sports are still on hold.
- At series matches, games, tournaments and shows as well as when it comes to the size of the audience in stands, one should follow to the restrictions by the Regional State Administrative Agency on gatherings.
- When it comes to camps for children and young people, THL’s recommendations (in Finnish) should be followed.
- Swimming halls, spas and public saunas can be opened but the coronavirus safety instructions must be followed.
- Youth centres, libraries, gyms run by the municipalities and similar facilities can be opened but the coronavirus safety instructions must be followed.
- The recommendation on remote work is kept unchanged.
- It is recommended that unnecessary travel abroad is avoided.

Regulation by The Regional State Administrative Agency for Western and Inland Finland: the number of participants at public events and at public gatherings is limited to 10 people indoors and 50 people outdoors. These regulations regarding gatherings are in effect from 2nd of June 2021 to 15th of June 2021.
