Clarification of the message from Soite’s coronavirus task group on November 4th
In the message from Soite’s coronavirus task group on November 4 2021 it was stated that due to the serious coronavirus situation, the coronavirus task group recommends that hobby activities for children and adults should be paused for a few weeks.
The wording has raised questions, and rightly so, which is why Soite now clarifies the recommendation and its motivation. The recommendation from Soite’s coronavirus task group does not require the suspension of hobby activities, but in this exceptional situation, the coronavirus task group wishes to alert the general public of possible infection risks, especially in hobbies with a high risk of infection. The coronavirus task group asks the population to please assess which gatherings and events it is justified to participate in under current circumstances. Please exercise caution when attending events, especially with regards to coronavirus disease in relation to risk groups and the elderly, as well as their family members.
The recommendation aims to help ensure that children and young people have the opportunity to continue their school work in the form of contact education.
In order to ease the exceptionally serious coronavirus situation, special care must now be taken at all gatherings, including those related to hobby activities. In particular, it is recommended that you avoid gatherings where the coronavirus safety instructions and sufficient safety distances in accordance with section 58 of the Communicable Diseases Act cannot be followed. During participation in high-risk events and hobbies, special caution should be exercised and consideration should be given to whether you and your family members should participate in these.
It is recommended that meetings be held only judiciously and in accordance with the coronavirus related hygiene guidelines. The coronavirus safety of the events is the responsibility of the organizer. Each participant decides for themselves regarding their participation.
