Soite’s coronavirus task group informs on the 8th of April 2021
Soite’s coronavirus task group has a meeting on Thursdays and when needed. The preparedness is in accordance with plan.
The current situation of infection
Two new coronavirus infections have been confirmed in Soite’s area. The infections are connected to an earlier chain of infection and the infected persons were already in quarantine. No new persons have thus been exposed to the virus. The infections in the chain have been confirmed to have been caused by the British variant.
No patients with COVID-19 are treated at the moment at the Central Ostrobothnia Central Hospital.
The incidence numbers when it comes to the coronavirus have not changed: In the last 14 days, 16 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Soite’s area and the incidence is currently 20.6/100 000 citizens in the last 14 days. All recent sources of infection have been traced.
0.5% of the coronavirus tests are currently positive.
In all, 260 coronavirus infections have been confirmed in Soite since the pandemic began. One case that has been confirmed as a false positive has been corrected in Soite’s statistics.
The coronavirus vaccinations of the citizens are progressing well in Soite’s area. The target group for vaccinations was expanded yesterday 7th of April 2021. Coronavirus vaccinations are now offered to:
- all 18-64-year-old persons who belong to risk group 1 or 2
- all persons over the age of 65
- appointments are also given to the earlier target groups, i.e. persons over the age of 70 and for 18-69-year-old persons who belong to risk group 1.
The appointment booking has already been opened in the electronic Omahoito service. The days that still have appointments available are marked with green colour in the web calendar.

In Soite’s area, persons who belong to risk group 1 or 2 and are 18–64 years old will be vaccinated with mRNA vaccines (Pfizer-BioNtech’s Comirnaty or Moderna). Persons over the age of 65 are vaccinated with Astra Zeneca’s vaccine in accordance with instructions from The Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare THL. Please note! Exceptions are persons over the age of 65 who have had a sinus thrombosis or who have had a low platelet count in connection with treatment with heparin (thrombocytopenia, HIT): these persons are vaccinated with mRNA vaccines (Pfizer-BioNtech’s Comirnaty or Moderna). The occupational health services in the area begin to vaccinate the same target groups week 15. The occupational health services will inform about their appointment bookings in their own channels.
