Current information on measures in Soite due to the coronavirus
Soite is making preparations in order to make sure there are enough beds in hospitals and in order to strengthen home care
Central Ostrobothnia Joint Municipal Authority For Social And Health Services Soite is preparing for a bigger need of beds in hospitals than usual during an exceptional epidemic. The pilot project on gradually decreasing the places of care on the general medicine wards in Veteli and Kannus and strengthening home care is postponed to a later date. At the same time, Soite prepares for increasing the number of beds in Soite’s units if needed.
In addition to that, Soite strengthens home care and advanced home care by flexibly moving personnel resources. Some of Soite’s units are closed from Monday 16th of March and non-urgent appointments etc. are reduced, so that personnel can be moved where the need is the greatest.
A possible exposure to the coronavirus in Kpedu’s auditorium on the 11th of March 2020
One person has been diagnosed with coronavirus in Central Ostrobothnia Central Hospital on Saturday 14th of March 2020. The 17 near contacts of the infected person have been contacted and they are in quarantine. The same case is associated with a lower risk exposure for persons who took part in the course “Työyhteisön kehittäminen” in Kpedu’s auditorium on the 11th of March 2020. All of those who took part in the course have been sent a personal letter with instructions. According to an assessment by Soite’s infection prevention unit and the Finnish institute for health and welfare Thl, the risk for the participants to become infected is small. Other employees and students at Kpedu and persons who have visited the school cafeteria on the day in question need not take any measures.
It is prohibited to visit Soite's units
Soite prohibits visits to all its units in order to prevent the coronavirus epidemic.
