The FINENTRY service that guides people who travel to Finland during the pandemic is taken into use today in Central Ostrobothnia

The Finentry service is taken into use today 21st of June 2021 in Central Ostrobothnia. FINENTRY (www.finentry.fi/en) is a digital service that is used on a browser. It makes travelling to Finland and coronavirus testing in connection with travelling to Finland easier during the coronavirus pandemic.

From the FINENTRY service, a person who is planning a trip to Finland gets instructions on measures connected to the coronavirus that are required when coming to Finland. Via the service, a traveller may book an appointment to a coronavirus test in Finland to a testing site maintained by one of FINENTRY’s contract partners or receives instructions on how to organize testing somewhere else.

The FINENTRY service makes coming to Finland smoother during the coronavirus pandemic. From the service, a traveller receives information and instructions on coronavirus testing and self-quarantine. In the FINENTRY service, you can for example:

  • book an appointment to a coronavirus test in Finland
  • receive instructions by text message on how to go to a test
  • receive results from a coronavirus test by text message.

Use of FINENTRY is recommended to everyone who travels to Finland, both Finns who are returning to the country and foreigners coming to the country

Service in different languages

The service is updated in accordance with instructions from Finnish authorities and makes it easier to receive updated instructions and updating instructions in different languages. The service is initially available in Finnish, Swedish and English and gradually on several other languages. The service can be used on a mobile phone or a browser and use of it is voluntary and free of charge.

The FINENTRY service takes into account different groups of travellers, e.g. Finns who are returning home and travellers who are coming to Finland because of work, studies or some other reason. Taking the FINENTRY service into use, does not affect the restrictions on travelling to the country, which are monitored by the border control authorities at the border crossing points.

The aim of FINENTRY is to make the measures connected to health security and to travelling into the country smoother for both authorities and travellers. The Finnish authorities hope that as many as possible of those who travel to Finland use FINENTRY. This is why the ease of use is also developed continually.

The service has been designed in collaboration with health and safety authorities as well as  transport operators. The Hospital District of Helsinki and Uusimaa (HUS) acts as the technical producer for the service.
