Four new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the Kruunupyy area leading to mass exposures
Four new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the Kruunupyy area. The infections are connected to the chain of infections we informed about yesterday the 12th of November 2020. The infections began to spread at a family event, which has now led to seven confirmed infections (on the 12th and on the 13th of November 2020) in Soite’s area. Infections are, however, also investigated in other hospital districts.
The infections have led to mass exposures at a unit for senior housing and at a workplace. The number of exposed persons is about 60.
Soite’s chief physician of infectious diseases Marko Rahkonen recommends that gatherings and hobbies are avoided in the Kruunupyy area for a week, so that the coronavirus situation calms down in the area and further infections are avoided.
A broader recommendation on the use of face masks is in effect in Soite’s area. It is also important to practise good hand hygiene and social distancing of 1.5 — 2 metres. It is important to seek out coronavirus testing without delay even if one only has mild symptoms.
Overall, 107 coronavirus infections have now been confirmed in Central Ostrobothnia hospital district during the whole pandemic. Link: An updated situational picture.
It is important to get tested even if one only has mild symptoms!
