Information on the coronavirus situation on the 18th of June 2020

Soite’s coronavirus task group has a daily meeting and updates the situational picture. The situation is still calm in Soite’s area and the preparations proceed according to plan.

No new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Central Ostrobothnia’s hospital district today. No coronavirus patients are cared for on wards. Overall, 31 coronavirus infections have been confirmed in Soite’s area. The situation is calm at the infection receptions and on the coronavirus helpline. Coronavirus tests are done with a low threshold on Soite’s coronavirus receptions when a person has symptoms of the coronavirus.

The guidelines for visits at enhanced round-the-clock care units remain in their current form. We try to make it possible for all residents and their loved ones to meet safely under current conditions. We recommend that visits mainly are arranged outdoors. If visits cannot be arranged outdoors due to the resident’s condition, we will attempt to arrange for the visit indoors by implementing special arrangements and corona safety measures. The personnel at the care home units will give the residents’ visitors more detailed guidance for the visits.

At the central hospital and at the general medical departments in Kokkola, Tunkkari and Kannus (i.e. the health centre inpatient wards) the visitor ban has been replaced by restrictions on visiting, as we informed yesterday.

From now on, we will only inform about the corona situation as needed, if the situational picture changes , i.e. regular updates will no longer be published.
