Information on the coronavirus situation on the 7th of May 2020
Soite’s coronavirus task group has a daily meeting and updates the situational picture. The situation is still calm in Soite’s area and the preparations proceed according to plan.
The situation is unchanged: no new coronavirus cases have been confirmed today in Soite’s area. No coronavirus patients are cared for on wards. Overall, 17 coronavirus infections have been confirmed in Soite, and all chains of infection have been traced in Soite’s area. The situation is very calm on the coronavirus clinic, in the infection units and on the coronavirus helpline. Coronavirus tests are done with a low threshold when a person has symptoms of the coronavirus.
In accordance with national guidelines, visits to Soite’s wards and assisted living facilities with 24-hour care are still prohibited. We in Soite wish to help friends and relatives to meet safely with their relatives who live in assisted living facilities. We are exploring the possibilities to arrange safe meetings. We will inform our clients’ relatives about this when we have determined how meetings will be arranged and when necessary arrangements have been made.
Until safe meetings can be arranged, we encourage relatives to keep in touch with their relatives who live in assisted living facilities by phone or different electronic services. Not all elderly and disabled persons have had access to adequate digital devices in order to keep in touch with their relatives. We have also received donations for this purpose — a warm thank you for that! We will gladly receive donations even henceforth for elderly and disabled persons who live in Soite’s units. Even older tablets are suitable and will be used actively when our clients communicate with their relatives. Soite has a particularly great need of these devices in this situation. Please contact by e‑mail about donations: firstname.lastname@example.org
Soite has sent the municipal educational administrations advice on the coronavirus situation for when schools and institutions open. We will publish advice that is more detailed for parents in the near future. This advice will be published on Soite’s website.
