Medical examinations and coronavirus tests in the Soite area for persons traveling from mainland Africa
In accordance with the Regional State Administrative Agency for Western and Inland Finland’s decision (in Finnish), persons arriving in Finland from certain southern African countries have been ordered to participate in a mandatory health check, as part of which a coronavirus sample can be taken. The order to participate in a mandatory health check will apply to persons who have stayed in one of the following countries during the last 14 days:
- South Africa
- Eswatini (Swaziland)
The Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare updates the list of countries when new information becomes available. The instruction to participate in a health check does not apply to children younger than 6.
Travelers from the countries mentioned above must contact Soite’s coronavirus helpline, phone 06 828 7499 to seek out a medical examination and coronavirus test as soon as they return to Finland.
Furthermore, we recommend that everyone travelling outside Finland makes use of the FINENTRY service when they return to Finland.
