Information on the 24th of May 2021 on the situational picture in Soite regarding the coronavirus — 5 new infections
The current situation of infection
Five new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Soite’s area. The cases are part of the same extensive chain of infections we have informed about lately.
Three COVID-19 patients are currently being treated at Central Ostrobothnian Central Hospital.
Over 75% of the infections that have been confirmed lately, have been confirmed in people who were already in quarantine, but infections are still also being confirmed among people who are not in quarantine. The key figures in the situational picture have been updated:
- The number of coronavirus cases during the last 14 days: 168 (a week ago: 124)
- The incidence of infections during the last 14 days/100 000 citizens: 217 (a week ago: 160)
- Three COVID-19 patients are currently being treated at Central Ostrobothnia’s central hospital.
- 1.7% of the coronavirus tests are positive (a week ago: 2.9%). During week 20, a record number of coronavirus tests were taken: 3736 tests.
- The number of coronavirus infections that have been confirmed in Soite since the pandemic began: 451
- The epidemiological situation in Central Ostrobothnia: community transmission phase
Due to the worsening of the corona situation in the Central Ostrobothnia region, the Regional State Administrative Agency of Western and Inland Finland has on 21st of May decided on a safety distance regulations in accordance with section 58 d of the Communicable Diseases Act. Operators in the Central Ostrobothnia Hospital District must ensure that close contact between persons can be effectively avoided in rooms that are open to the public or intended for use by a limited number of clients or participants. Close contact means physical contact or presence face-to-face or in the same space at a distance less than two meters apart and for longer than 15 minutes. Operators must make a written plan for how they will enable the public and clients to avoid close contact. If it is not possible to meet the requirements of the law, the premises cannot be used. Remember to seek out coronavirus testing immediately even if you have only mild symptoms. The coronavirus test result will be sent automatically to your mobile phone as a text message if you have agreed to this. You can also check your result in the Omakanta service. You have to stay in quarantine at home until you receive the test result.
Vaccinations
Coronavirus vaccinations are progressing well within Soite’s area. Currently, vaccination is open for all residents over the age of 50 as well as 16–64-year-old persons who belong to risk group 1 or 2 and have an illness or condition that is very highly or highly predisposing to severe coronavirus disease.
Due to the worsened coronavirus situation, the Soite area will receive an additional vaccine delivery this week (link to THL’s message (in Finnish). Not counting additional deliveries, 5700 coronavirus vaccine doses will become available for distribution this week, of which 3700 are intended for persons receiving their first dose. It is estimated that there are currently about 5000 persons who have a right to their first vaccine dose in Soite’s area.
Appointment booking by phone will open anew on Tuesday 25th of May 2021 at 12 noon and more appointments will also become available in the Omahoito electronic appointment booking system on Tuesday at 12 noon. Appointment times will be added to the electronic booking system at other times as well if they become available due to cancellations or sudden increases in the number of vaccines. The Omahoito service is open 24/7. Days on which appointment times are available will be marked with green in the web calendar.
Soite’s corona vaccination indicator has been updated. In all, 44% of the citizens in Central Ostrobothnia health care district over the age of 16 have now received their first vaccine dose. 9 percent of persons over the age of 16 have received their second vaccination dose.
