The cur­rent sit­u­a­tion of Infection

No new coro­n­avirus cas­es have been con­firmed in Soite’s area. The lat­est pos­i­tive coro­n­avirus infec­tion in the area was con­firmed on Mon­day 12th of April 2021.

The key fig­ures in the sit­u­a­tion­al pic­ture have been updated:

  • The number of coronavirus cases during the last 14 days: 2 (the previous number was 5)
  • The incidence of infections during the last 14 days/100 000 citizens: 2.6 (the previous number was 6.5)
  • No patients infected with coronavirus are being treated at Central Ostrobothnia’s Central Hospital.
  • 0% of the coronavirus tests are positive. During week 16, 1270 people were tested for coronavirus in Soite.
  • All the recent coronavirus infections have been 100% traced.
  • The epidemiological situation in Central Ostrobothnia: base level


Coro­n­avirus vac­ci­na­tions are pro­gress­ing well with­in Soite’s area. Cur­rent­ly, vac­ci­na­tion is open for all res­i­dents over the age of 60 as well as 16–64-year-old per­sons who belong to risk group 1 or 2 and have an ill­ness or con­di­tion that is very high­ly or high­ly pre­dis­pos­ing to severe coro­n­avirus disease.

Appoint­ment book­ing by phone will open again on Tues­day 27th of April 2021 at 12 noon and more appoint­ments will also become avail­able in the Oma­hoito elec­tron­ic appoint­ment book­ing sys­tem on Tues­day at 12 noon. Appoint­ment times will be added to the elec­tron­ic book­ing sys­tem at oth­er times as well as they become avail­able due to can­cel­la­tions or sud­den increas­es in the num­ber of vac­cines. The Oma­hoito ser­vice is open 24/7. Days on which appoint­ment times are avail­able are marked with green in the web calendar.

On Tues­day 27th of April 2021, approx­i­mate­ly 1300 vac­cines become avail­able in the book­ing sys­tem. The occu­pa­tion­al health care providers in the area receive 1400 vac­cine dos­es. At this point, about 4000 per­sons have the right to a vac­ci­na­tion in Soite’s area.

The infor­ma­tion about vac­ci­na­tions has now been updat­ed in Soite’s coro­na vac­ci­na­tion indi­ca­tor. All the infor­ma­tion about vac­ci­na­tions in Soite’s area has not reg­is­tered in the vac­ci­na­tion reg­is­ter of The Finnish Insti­tute for Health and Wel­fare THL, but Soite’s coro­na vac­ci­na­tion indi­ca­tor is up to date. The infor­ma­tion in THL’s vac­ci­na­tion reg­is­ter and map will be updat­ed retroac­tive­ly when the error has been corrected.

In all, 35% of the cit­i­zens in Cen­tral Ostro­both­nia health care dis­trict have now received their first vac­cine dose. 91% of per­sons over the age of 70 in Soite’s area have now been vac­ci­nat­ed. Soite’s area has about 10 820 cit­i­zens who are 16–69 years old and belong to risk group 1 or 2 and 77% of the per­sons in this group have now received their first vac­cine dose.

Soite wants to thank the res­i­dents in its area for doing a good job at fol­low­ing the coro­n­avirus rec­om­men­da­tions. The coro­n­avirus sit­u­a­tion in Cen­tral Ostro­both­nia has remained calm, let us con­tin­ue in the same vein. Main­tain social dis­tanc­ing dur­ing first of May, i.e. cel­e­brate at a dis­tance it only in the com­pa­ny of your clos­est cir­cle. Please con­tin­ue observ­ing region­al rec­om­men­da­tions and reg­u­la­tions so that infec­tions do not begin to spread and so that we all may have a bet­ter sum­mer this year.

The coro­n­avirus test result will be sent auto­mat­i­cal­ly to your mobile phone as a text mes­sage if you have agreed to this. You can also check your result in the Omakan­ta ser­vice. You have to stay in quar­an­tine at home until you receive the test result.
