Information on the 28th of June 2021 on the situational picture in Soite’s area when it comes to the coronavirus epidemic

The current situation of infection

No new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Soite’s area during the past week. The latest coronavirus case was confirmed on Tuesday the 8th of June 2021. The regional incidence is currently 0/100 000 citizens in 14 days. One person who has been infected with the coronavirus is cared for at the Central Ostrobothnia Central Hospital.

A few persons who have been travelling to Saint Petersburg have been put into quarantine because of exposure to the coronavirus. Soite asks especially those who have been travelling in Russia to not hesitate seeking out coronavirus testing. Everyone who has returned from Saint Petersburg by bus must avoid contact with persons outside of the family and seek out coronavirus testing 72 hours after coming to the country even if they have no symptoms that fit the coronavirus. Those who are or have been in contact with travellers who have come by bus from Saint Petersburg to Finland should not hesitate seeking out coronavirus testing.

THL also strongly recommends that all travellers who return from Russia to Finland seek out coronavirus testing 72 hours after returning to Finland and avoid social contacts until the test results have come (THL’s message in Finnish).

Use of the FINENTRY service is recommended to everyone who travels to Finland and to Finns who are returning to the country. FINENTRY ( is a digital service that is used on a browser. It makes travelling to Finland and coronavirus testing in connection with travelling to Finland easier during the coronavirus pandemic. The service is used in Central Ostrobothnia as well. In the FINENTRY service, you can for example:

  • book an appointment to a coronavirus test in Finland
  • receive instructions by text message on how to go to a test
  • receive results from a coronavirus test by text message

The coronavirus vaccinations of the citizens are progressing well in Soite’s area. The vaccinations of the citizens within Soite are progressing with regards to all persons over the age of 16 as well as 12–15-year-old adolescents who belong to risk group 1 and 2.

Soite’s coronavirus vaccination indicator has been updated. In all, 72% of the citizens in Central Ostrobothnia health care district over the age of 12 have now received their first vaccine dose.25% of all persons over the age of 12 have received their second vaccine dose. When it comes to all citizens, 61% have received their first dose.

The coronavirus vaccinations take us towards a more normal life — one vaccination at a time! Coronavirus vaccines give effective protection against the coronavirus disease and especially its more serious forms. If you are vaccinated you also help to protect other people from coronavirus infections. More information on coronavirus vaccines.
