Information on the 28th of June 2021 on the situational picture in Soite’s area when it comes to the coronavirus epidemic
The current situation of infection
No new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Soite’s area during the past week. The latest coronavirus case was confirmed on Tuesday the 8th of June 2021. The regional incidence is currently 0/100 000 citizens in 14 days. One person who has been infected with the coronavirus is cared for at the Central Ostrobothnia Central Hospital.
A few persons who have been travelling to Saint Petersburg have been put into quarantine because of exposure to the coronavirus. Soite asks especially those who have been travelling in Russia to not hesitate seeking out coronavirus testing. Everyone who has returned from Saint Petersburg by bus must avoid contact with persons outside of the family and seek out coronavirus testing 72 hours after coming to the country even if they have no symptoms that fit the coronavirus. Those who are or have been in contact with travellers who have come by bus from Saint Petersburg to Finland should not hesitate seeking out coronavirus testing.
THL also strongly recommends that all travellers who return from Russia to Finland seek out coronavirus testing 72 hours after returning to Finland and avoid social contacts until the test results have come (THL’s message in Finnish).
Use of the FINENTRY service is recommended to everyone who travels to Finland and to Finns who are returning to the country. FINENTRY (www.finentry.fi/en) is a digital service that is used on a browser. It makes travelling to Finland and coronavirus testing in connection with travelling to Finland easier during the coronavirus pandemic. The service is used in Central Ostrobothnia as well. In the FINENTRY service, you can for example:
- book an appointment to a coronavirus test in Finland
- receive instructions by text message on how to go to a test
- receive results from a coronavirus test by text message
The coronavirus vaccinations of the citizens are progressing well in Soite’s area. The vaccinations of the citizens within Soite are progressing with regards to all persons over the age of 16 as well as 12–15-year-old adolescents who belong to risk group 1 and 2.
Soite’s coronavirus vaccination indicator has been updated. In all, 72% of the citizens in Central Ostrobothnia health care district over the age of 12 have now received their first vaccine dose.25% of all persons over the age of 12 have received their second vaccine dose. When it comes to all citizens, 61% have received their first dose.

There are a fairly good number of vaccination appointments available, and more appointments are added to the appointment booking calendars tomorrow Tuesday 29th of June 2021. Appointments are added for at least a week. In other words, tomorrow, appointments are added for the rest of the week and for next week.
The telephone booking for coronavirus vaccinations opens again on Tuesday 29th of June 2021 at 12 pm on 06 828 7488 and more appointments are also opened in the electronic Omahoito service on Tuesday at 12 pm.
An appointment may be booked electronically via the Omahoito service for an adolescent if the adolescent has the codes that are needed for electronic identification (online banking codes or a mobile certificate). If electronic identification is not possible, an appointment should be booked by phone.
