Soite starts using the electronic Omaolo service: electronic booking of appointments for coronavirus testing is tried out
Central Ostrobothnia Joint Municipal Authority for Social and Health services Soite starts using the national Omaolo service in Central Ostrobothnia in the handling of the coronavirus pandemic. A client can fill in a coronavirus symptom checker in Omaolo. The service then assesses the likelihood that the user has a coronavirus infection. When needed, the service forward the user’s contact information to Soite. At the same time, Soite will also begin testing electronic booking of appointments for coronavirus testing. The electronic booking system is linked to the Omaolo service and will be tested concerning the drive-in testing site in Kokkola.
Soite starts using the national Omaolo service on Friday 9th of October 2020. A client can use the web-based Omaolo service (on omaolo.fi) to assess an individual symptom or health problem. The service gives the client advice on care as well as recommendations based on his/her answers. The Omaolo service is an electronic alternative to contacting Soite by phone.
Soite starts using Omaolo by adopting the coronavirus symptom checker. After strong identification in the coronavirus symptom checker, the client’s contact information may be forwarded directly to Soite’s unit, if Omaolo assesses that the client may have a coronavirus infection. Soite contacts the client by phone and, when needed, starts the testing process and care. In other words, the client does not necessarily need to call Soite’s coronavirus helpline and avoids having to queue on the phone. After having filled in the symptom checker, the client can wait for Soite to contact him/her, if Omaolo has assessed that s/he needs to be tested.
