Soite’s coronavirus task force informs on the 20th of August 2020

Soite’s coronavirus task group has meetings regularly and updates the situational picture. The situation is still fairly calm in Soite’s area and the preparations are proceeding according to plan.

No new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the recent days in Soite’s area. The latest case was confirmed on the 20th of July 2020. Overall, 32 coronavirus infections have been confirmed in Soite’s area.

A large number of coronavirus tests are done in Soite (closer to 200 per day) and a test is available within a day as is recommended. The goal is to analyse a majority of the tests at the laboratory at the central hospital in Kokkola, but some tests are sent to Oulu for analysis. Unfortunately, the laboratory in Oulu is very congested, which is why some test results are received in Soite’s area after a delay of a few days.

Tip: On the Instructions page on Soite’s website is a link to THL’s recommendations on the use of face masks.
