Soite’s coronavirus task force informs on the 24th of August 2020

Soite’s coronavirus task group has meetings regularly and updates the situational picture. The situation is still fairly calm in Soite’s area and the preparations are proceeding according to plan.

One new coronavirus case has been confirmed in Soite’s area. The patient has been infected in a risk country and is currently staying at home. The chain of infection is clear, those exposed to it have been placed in quarantine, and the infection is not related to any mass exposure. Overall, 33 coronavirus infections have been confirmed in Soite’s area.

Based on the risk assessment, this new case does not cause an immediate need for the general public to use protective masks in Central Ostrobothnia, although the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare recommends using protective masks to protect other people within those hospital districts where cases of coronavirus infections have occurred during the last two weeks.

Later this week, we will provide more information about the mask recommendations and the distribution of breathing protection to low-income households.
