Soite’s coronavirus task group informs on the 15th of February 2021
Soite’s coronavirus task group has a meeting on Mondays, Thursdays and when needed and it updates the situational picture. The preparedness is in accordance with plan.
The current situation of infection
No new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Soite’s area today. During the weekend, two new infections were confirmed and both were linked to the Skellefteå chain of infection. 15 infections and 2 further infections have come to Soite’s area from the Skellefteå chain, in total 17 infections. So far, nine of these have been confirmed to be the British mutation of the coronavirus.
In Soite’s area there are now a total of 14 people infected with coronavirus and an additional 55 who have been exposed to coronavirus, and all of these are in quarantine and under observation.
The key figures in the situational picture have been updated:
- The number of coronavirus cases during the last 14 days: 15 (the previous number was 18)
- The incidence of infections during the last 14 days/100 000 citizens: 19 (the previous number was 23)
- No patients with COVID-19 are currently being treated at the Central Ostrobothnia Central Hospital.
- 0.4% of the coronavirus tests are positive. During week 6, 1380 people were tested for coronavirus in Soite.
- The number of coronavirus infections that have been confirmed in Soite since the pandemic began: 196
- The traceability of chains of infection is 80% in the hospital district
- The epidemiological situation in Central Ostrobothnia: base level
The Finnish Institute for Health and welfare has updated the recommendations regarding the Koronavilkku coronavirus app: in the future, all users who have received a notification regarding exposure will be urged to seek out coronavirus testing, even if they do not experience any symptoms at all. Application updates related to the new model of operation will be carried out for the Koronavilkku app and the Omaolo coronavirus symptoms evaluation on the 4th of March 2021, according to the Finnish Institute for Health and welfare.
Vaccinations
This week, the administration of the second dose of the vaccine will begin for Soite’s personnel. Next, the coronavirus vaccinations will be extended to midwives and employees within the social services.
Coronavirus vaccinations for the elderly are progressing within Soite’s area. All of the residents and most of the personnel at around-the-clock care home units have now been vaccinated. The appointment booking to coronavirus vaccinations for elderly persons above the age of 80 who live at home and their informal caregivers as well as other elderly persons (over the age of 70, e.g. spouses) who live in the same household will open again next week on Tuesday 16th of February at 12 noon.
Next week, the corona vaccinations in Soite’s area will be expanded to people under the age of 70 who belong to risk group 1 At first, people from this group who attend check-ups at Soite (such as transplantation and cancer patients) will be vaccinated. They will be personally contacted by phone so that a vaccination appointment can be agreed on.

Changes in Soite’s operations during the coronavirus pandemic
The limited activity at Koivuhaka health center will continue until 7th of May 2021: you can visit a doctor or a nurse at Koivuhaka health center only by booking an appointment beforehand.
