Soite’s coronavirus task group informs on the 1st of July 2021 — no new coronavirus cases

Soite’s coronavirus task group gathered on 1st of July 2021 for the last time before their summer break. Their next meeting is on 5th of August unless the regional coronavirus situation changes significantly.

During July, we inform about the coronavirus situation every Monday by updating the situational picture as well as the corona vaccination indicator on Soite’s corona web site.

We publish additional information about the coronavirus situation only if it changes significantly.

The current situation of infection

No new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Soite’s area. The latest case was confirmed on 8th of June 2021. The regional incidence is currently 0/100 000 citizens in 14 days. One person who has been infected with the coronavirus is cared for at the Central Ostrobothnia Central Hospital.

Let’s maintain the region’s exceptional coronavirus situation by followin the hugien recommendations, the regional recommendatioms and by seeking out coronavirus testing even if you have only mild symptoms indicative of corona. Persons who have already received the vaccine must seek out testing if they get symptoms. Coronavirus vaccines effectively prevent virus infections and virus secretion and the spread of infections, but does not completely eliminate the risk of getting or spreading an infection: even a vaccinated person may potentially infect others. The coronavirus vaccine offers protection especially against serious forms of coronavirus disease.

All reginal regulations and recommendations are listed on Soite’s corona web site.

Remember to be especially careful when traveling within the European Union and Schengen region, and to avoid traveling outside these. Follow the instructions from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland and THL:s instructions:

he coronavirus vaccinations of the citizens are progressing well in Soite’s area. The vaccinations of the citizens within Soite are progressing with regards to all persons over the age of 16 as well as 12–15-year-old adolescents who belong to risk group 1 and 2.

There are a relative good number of vaccination appointments available and more are added all the time. The goal is to add appointments for at least one week at a time. If you book an appointment now, the second vaccination is given after 12 weeks. An effective protection against a coronavirus infection is then achieved in the autumn (more information on the efficacy of vaccines on the website of the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare THL). The coronavirus vaccinations take us towards a more normal life — one vaccination at a time! A vaccine gives you protection against the serious forms of the coronavirus disease and if you are vaccinated you help protect others.

An appointment for a vaccination can be booked online on the web in Soite’s Omahoito service.

The telephone booking for coronavirus vaccinations opens again on Tuesday 29th of June 2021 at 12 pm and more appointments are also opened in the electronic Omahoito service on Tuesday at 12 pm The Omahoito service is open 24/7. The days that still have appointments available are marked with green colour in the web calendar.

You can follow how the vaccinations progress in the area with the help of Soite’s coronavirus vaccination indicator, which is updated on Mondays.

The task group wishes everyone a sunny and safe summer!
