Soite’s coronavirus task group has a meeting on Mondays, Thursdays and when needed and it updates the situational picture. The preparedness is in accordance with plan.
The current situation of Infection
One new coronavirus case has been confirmed in Soite’s area. The chain of infection has been traced and those exposed have been placed in quarantine.
Following the corona recommendations has a clear impact on the regional coronavirus situation. Soite’s task group wants to thank all residents in the area for following the coronavirus ínstructions. Please keep following the instructions! Do not leave your home if you get symptoms of a coronavirus infection and go take a coronavirus test as soon as possible even if you get only mild symptoms. We all can impact the coronavirus situation through our own actions and increase the likelihood that we do not infect our loved ones or other people we meet. There is still some distance to go before everyone has been given the vaccine, so keep going just a little while yet!
Coronavirus vaccinations are progressing within Soite’s area. Currently, personnel and elderly residents at Soite’s around-the-clock care home units are being vaccinated. Those who have already received their first dose of the vaccine are now being given their second dose. Mass vaccinations of people aged 80 and older will start at the beginning of February. Soite will in the near future distribute an information bulletin about the coronavirus vaccinations to the households in the region – please save the bulletin!
In accordance with Finland’s strategy for coronavirus vaccinations (in Finnish), the vaccine will be offered to the elderly after most of the personnel at intensive care units, social and health care personnel that treats coronavirus patients and personnel and residents at care homes for the elderly have been vaccinated.
