Soite’s coronavirus task group informs on the 24th of September 2020

Soite’s coronavirus task group has a meeting on Mondays, Thursdays and when needed and it updates the situational picture. The preparedness is in accordance with plan.

No new coronavirus cases have been confirmed today in Soite’s area. The latest case was confirmed on Tuesday 22nd of September 2020 and we informed about it on Wednesday 23rd of September 2020. Overall, 45 coronavirus infections have been confirmed in Central Ostrobothnia health care district.

THL has updated its recommendation on the use of face masks today. The recommendation is based on three phases when it comes to the spreading of the coronavirus: the base level, the acceleration stage and the spreading stage (read more in THL’s article). Soite is on the base level, which means the recommendation on the use of face masks still applies as before. The situation is monitored continuously. There is a risk that the number of cases will rise as the coronavirus situation accelerates in the country.

Soite will continue to distribute face masks to low-income persons during weeks 40–41. The national recommendation is that citizens by their own face masks. Free masks are intended for low-income persons who cannot afford masks. More information in the article.

We want to stress that it is important that those who live in the area maintain safe distances (at least 1 metre) and good hand and coughing hygiene) (read more instructions). Furthermore, we wish to appeal especially to the sports clubs and hobbies in the area that they give instructions to the participants on safe distances and good hand and coughing hygiene when people gather in their spare time.

We also wish to remind everyone who is in voluntary quarantine or have been put in quarantine by a doctor of the instructions regarding quarantine:

“A person who is in quarantine must avoid close contact with people outside the family. It is okay to go out if one avoids going close to other people. Going e.g. to work, school, kindergarten, hobbies and to the store is not allowed, as it is difficult to avoid close contact in these places. (Source: THL)
