Soite’s coronavirus task group informs on the 28th of January 2021
Soite’s coronavirus task group has a meeting on Mondays, Thursdays and when needed and it updates the situational picture. The preparedness is in accordance with plan.
The current situation of infection
Two new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Soite’s area. The infections are related to a known chain of infection and those close to the infected persons who have been exposed have been contact traced and placed in quarantine.
One COVID-19 patient is currently being treated at Central Ostrobothnia’s central hospital.
Over the past 14 days, a total of 16 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Soite and the incidence of infections during the last 14 days is currently 20.5 /100 000 citizens. The number of coronavirus infections that have been confirmed in Soite since the pandemic began is now 173.
Vaccinations
Coronavirus vaccinations are progressing within Soite’s area. Currently, personnel and elderly residents at Soite’s around-the-clock care home units for the elderly are being vaccinated. Additionally, Soite’s critical personnel that perform corona related work are currently being given their second dose of the corona vaccine.
Mass vaccinations of the population will begin Thursday 4th of February 2021 with elderly persons over the age of 80 who live at home as well as informal caregivers and other elderly persons who live in the same household. Appointment booking for this target group will be opened on Monday February the 1st at 10 a.m., phone 06 828 7488. Initially, the availability of vaccination appointments will be limited due to the limited amount of corona vaccines available to Soite, and because of this, vaccinations will be organized only at vaccination sites in Kokkola, Kannus, Tunkkari and Kruunupyy. Read separate message about the subject.
