Soite’s coronavirus task group informs on the 8th of February 2021
Soite’s coronavirus task group has a meeting on Mondays, Thursdays and when needed and it updates the situational picture. The preparedness is in accordance with plan.
The current situation of infection
One new coronavirus case has been confirmed in Soite’s area. The infection is related to the Skellefteå chain of infection that we informed about this weekend. In relation to the Skellefteå chain of infection, dozens of people in Soite’s area have been placed in quarantine in order to prevent further infections.
Employees at Northvolt who have returned to Finland from Skellefteå after Saturday the 23rd of January 2021 are still urged to seek out coronavirus testing. In this exceptional case, coronavirus testing should be sought out even if one has no symptoms. Going to a test is necessary even if a negative coronavirus test has been taken at the factory or at the western border. In these cases, the interval between the tests must be at least 72 h. The coronavirus epidemic is worsening in Skellefteå and cases of the mutated virus which originates from Britain have been confirmed at Northvolt’s factory.
The key figures in the situational picture have been updated:
- The number of coronavirus cases during the last 14 days: 21 (the previous number was 17)
- The incidence of infections during the last 14 days/100 000 citizens: 25.6 (the previous number was 21.8)
- No patients with COVID-19 are currently being treated at the Central Ostrobothnia Central Hospital.
- 0.6% of the coronavirus tests are positive. During week 5, 1400 people were tested for coronavirus in Soite.
- The number of coronavirus infections that have been confirmed in Soite since the pandemic began: 190
- The traceability of chains of infection is 80% in the hospital district
- The epidemiological situation in Central Ostrobothnia: base level
Vaccinations
Coronavirus vaccinations of the elderly are progressing within Soite’s area. 84 percent of the residents and personnel at around-the-clock care home units have now been vaccinated. Today, appointment booking to coronavirus vaccinations was once again opened for elderly persons above the age of 80 who live at home and their informal caregivers as well as other elderly persons (over the age of 70, e.g. spouses) who live in the same household. About 600 vaccines have been reserved for this week’s mass vaccination.
The appointment booking for the mass vaccinations has once again had a busy start and many persons have contacted Soite by phone and online. More personnel has been added to the phone booking system. The electronic appointment booking runs more smoothly and we recommend that you book your appointment online if possible. If an informal caregiver or partner who lives in the same household is to be vaccinated at the same time, the appointment booking must be done by phone for both.
The corona vaccinations of Soite’s personnel have been paused this week, as the administration of vaccination was interrupted in accordance with the guidelines defined by national vaccination expert group KRAR. The corona vaccination of personnel will continue anew next week.
You can follow how the vaccination progresses in the area with the help of Soite’s corona vaccination indicator, which is updated on Monday afternoons at the address: https://korona.soite.fi/en/the-coronavirus-vaccines/
