Soite’s coronavirus task group informs on the 17th of June 2021 — no new coronavirus cases
Soite’s coronavirus task group has a meeting on Thursdays. The preparedness is in accordance with plan.
The current situation of infection
No new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Soite’s area. The latest coronavirus case was confirmed on Tuesday 8th of June 2020. The regional incidence is currently 7.7/100 000 citizens in 14 days. One person who has been infected with the coronavirus is cared for at the Central Ostrobothnia Central Hospital.
In accordance with the decision by the group of authorities, Soite’s area transfers to the baseline when it comes to the coronavirus epidemic (more information in the message from yesterday). As a precaution, recommendations on gatherings are still in effect until Wednesday 23rd of June 2021 and are assessed again at that date. All the regional regulations and recommendations regarding the coronavirus epidemic within Soite’s area are listed on Soite’s coronavirus website.
The coronavirus vaccinations of the citizens are progressing well in Soite’s area. The vaccinations of the citizens are progressing with regards to all persons over the age of 16.
There are a relative good number of vaccination appointments available and more are added all the time as soon as the time of arrival of new vaccines is confirmed. The goal is to add appointments for at least one week at a time. If you book an appointment now, the second vaccination is given after 12 weeks. An effective protection against a coronavirus infection is then achieved in the autumn (more information on the efficacy of vaccines on THL’s website). The coronavirus vaccinations take us towards a more normal life — one vaccination at a time! A vaccine gives you protection against the serious forms of the coronavirus disease and if you are vaccinated you help protect others.
An appointment for a vaccination can be booked online on the web in Soite’s Omahoito service.
The telephone booking for coronavirus vaccinations opens again on Tuesday 22nd of June 2021 at 12 pm and more appointments are also opened in the electronic Omahoito service on Tuesday at 12 pm Vaccination appointments are added to the electronic appointment booking even at other times if appointments are cancelled or if the number of vaccines suddenly increases. The Omahoito service is open 24/7. The days that still have appointments available are marked with green colour in the web calendar.
You can follow how the vaccinations progress in the area with the help of Soite’s corona vaccination indicator, which is updated on Mondays.
The Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare THL recommends that vaccinations are begun for 12–15-year-old adolescents who belong to a risk group (more information in the press release by THL in Finnish). Preparations are made for this in Soite and we will inform later about when vaccinations begin for this group.
