Soite’s coronavirus task group informs on the 27th of May 2021 — 5 new cases
Soite’s coronavirus task group gathers mainly on Thursdays, but because of the worsened coronavirus situation, the group has gathered three times a week. The preparedness is in accordance with plan.
The current situation of infection
Five new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Soite’s area. All cases were confirmed among people who were already in quarantine.
Over 14 days, a total of 148 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Soite’s area and the regional incidence of infections is currently 191 /100 000 citizens. Two COVID-19 patients are currently being treated at Central Ostrobothnia’s central hospital.
The number of coronavirus infections in Soite’s area have begun to decrease, but the situation is still serious. There is still a risk that new extensive exposure situations can occur. In order for the coronavirus situation to calm down before summer, it is very important that everyone carefully follows the recommendations regarding social gatherings and the hygiene recommendations for prevention of the spread of infections. It is now important to keep the number of close contacts to a minimum and to be mindful of proper use of face masks as well as to maintain a safety distance of 2 meters and exercise good hand hygiene. Unnecessary social gatherings should be avoided! We urge everyone who has even mild symptoms indicative of coronavirus to quickly seek out coronavirus testing. You should not go outside your home even if you have only mild symptoms!
Coronavirus vaccinations of the residents in Soite’s area are progressing well. Currently, vaccination is open for all residents over the age of 45 as well as 16–64-year-old persons who belong to risk group 1 or 2 and have an illness or condition that is very highly or highly predisposing to severe coronavirus disease. On Tuesday next week, the coronavirus vaccination appointments will be opened for persons aged 40 to 44 years as well.
Appointment booking by phone will open anew on Tuesday 1st of June 2021 at 12 noon and more appointments will also become available in the Omahoito electronic appointment booking system on Tuesday at 12 noon. Appointment times will be added to the electronic booking system at other times as well if they become available due to cancellations or sudden increases in the number of vaccines. The Omahoito service is open 24/7. Days on which appointment times are available will be marked with green in the web calendar.
