Soite’s coronavirus task group informs on the 6th of May 2021

Soite’s coronavirus task group has a meeting on Thursdays and when needed. The preparedness is in accordance with plan.

The current situation of infection

One new coronavirus case has been confirmed in Soite’s area. The source of the infection is currently being investigated. Those close to the infected persons who have been exposed have been contact traced and placed in quarantine.

The infection is related to a possible exposure at the gym Kuntokeskus Liikku on Tuesday 4th of May between 6.30 am and 7.30 am. We ask those who visited the gym at that time to observe themselves for any symptoms and quickly book an appointment for coronavirus testing.

The incidence of coronavirus infections during 14 days is currently 2.6 /100 000 citizens, and the number of coronavirus infections that have been confirmed during these 14 days is 2. No patients are currently being treated for COVID-19 at the Central Ostrobothnia Central Hospital.

The task group wants to emphasize that there still is a possibility of getting infected with coronavirus in Soite’s area despite how calm the situation has been lately.  It is still very important to follow the coronavirus hygiene instructions and regional recommendations.

We also remind everyone to pay particular attention to coronavirus safety when visiting their loved ones during the upcoming Mother’s Day celebration. Visits to relatives and other loved ones at housing service units are arranged with precautions and in accordance with the unit’s instructions. We recommend that you contact the unit beforehand to arrange a safe visit. It is important that you do not have any symptoms when you visit. More appointments will also become available in the Omahoito electronic appointment booking system on Tuesday at 12 noon. All vaccines, like other medicines, may have side effects. If you experience any side effects and need help, you can call Soite’s Medical Helpline at 116 117. Most side effects of the coronavirus vaccines are mild and temporary. The most common side effects after vaccination are local symptoms at the injection site, such as pain, redness, heat and swelling. Transient general symptoms such as fever, muscle aches, headache, fatigue, irritability, nausea and chills are also very common. Additional information can be found at both THL’s and FIMEA’s web sites.
