The coronavirus processes in Soite are modified: a new drive-in testing site is opened and the results from a coronavirus test can be sent as a text message to the mobile phone
Central Ostrobothnia Joint Municipal Authority for Social and Health services Soite modifies its coronavirus processes this week. A new drive-in testing site is opened in Kokkola and the opening hours for the coronavirus helpline are extended. Furthermore, the coronavirus testing process is improved by making it possible for clients to receive the test results as a text message on their mobile phone.
A new drive-in testing site is opened in Kokkola
A new drive-in testing site has been built by Kokkola healthcare centre near the so called Libeck hospital. The lanes at the testing site are only used for coronavirus testing, and no other assessments are done on the lanes. The instructions on the drive-in lanes must be read and followed. It is prohibited to drive onto the drive-in lanes without a test appointment.
A person who suspects a coronavirus infection or has symptoms of the cold should always first call Soite’s coronavirus helpline. If needed, s/he will then be given a test appointment. During the call, a nurse will assess the need of care and will, if needed, give the patient an appointment for drive-in testing. Coronavirus tests will also continue to be taken in separate rooms at Soite’s infection receptions.
The opening hours for the coronavirus helpline will be extended
The opening hours for Soite’s coronavirus helpline 06 828 7499 will be extended; it will be open from 8 am. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. The weekend opening hours will not be changed and they are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. At other times, Soite’s common emergency clinic (yhteispäivystys/samjouren) should be called, phone 06 826 4500. The coronavirus helpline is meant for adults. If the patient is under the age of 16, Soite’s paediatric emergency clinic (lasten päivystys/barnakuten) should be called, phone 06 826 4444 (open every day 24 hours a day).
It will be possible to receive the coronavirus test results as a text message
It will be possible for a client to receive the result from coronavirus test done in Soite as a text message on the mobile phone. The client’s consent is needed for this. The consent for sending text messages can be activated electronically in Soite’s Omahoito service: https://soite.terveytesi.fi/. The consent for sending text messages is in the section “Omat tiedot”. We recommend that the other information in “Omat tiedot” is also checked to make sure it is up to date.
If a patient’s coronavirus test is positive, an expert from Soite will contact him/her for further advice. Before the patient is contacted, s/he should be in home quarantine.
