The rec­om­men­da­tions for Soite’s area in the accel­er­a­tion stage of the coro­n­avirus epi­dem­ic — the Region­al State Admin­is­tra­tive Agency pro­hibits gath­er­ings of over 20 persons

The COVID-19 region­al group of author­i­ties in Cen­tral Ostro­both­nia had a meet­ing on Wednes­day 2nd of Decem­ber 2020 and fixed the guide­lines that were estab­lished for Cen­tral Ostro­both­nia for the accel­er­a­tion stage at the extra meet­ing the group of author­i­ties had on Sun­day 29th of Novem­ber 2020. The ear­li­er rec­om­men­da­tion of lim­it­ing gath­er­ings to 20 per­sons and to inter­rupt hob­bies for adults until the 21st of Decem­ber 2020 is still in effect in Soite. 

The Region­al State Admin­is­tra­tive Agency sharp­ened the restric­tions on gath­er­ings on the 1st of Decem­ber 2020 when it comes to the base lev­el, the accel­er­a­tion stage and the spread­ing stage of the coro­n­avirus epi­dem­ic. When Cen­tral Ostro­both­nia is in the accel­er­a­tion stage, pub­lic events of over 20 per­sons are pro­hib­it­ed. The stricter restric­tions are need­ed in order to pre­vent the coro­n­avirus from spread­ing any wider, to pro­tect peo­ple who are in at-risk groups and to make sure the capac­i­ty of the health care is not exceed­ed. The restric­tion is in effect from the 2nd of Decem­ber through 21st of Decem­ber 2020. Read more in in the press release by the Region­al State Admin­is­tra­tive Agency (in Finnish).

Those that arrange events are respon­si­ble for safe­ty pre­cau­tions and for the num­ber of par­tic­i­pants. Pub­lic events and gen­er­al gath­er­ings can be arranged indoors and in lim­it­ed out­door spaces if the rec­om­men­da­tions from the Finnish insti­tute for health and wel­fare THL and the Min­istry of Edu­ca­tion and Cul­ture (in Finnish) and the restric­tions when it comes to the num­ber of par­tic­i­pants are followed.

One new coro­n­avirus case has been con­firmed in Soite’s area. The infec­tion is con­nect­ed to an ear­li­er chain of infec­tions and no new per­sons have been exposed to the virus. Three per­sons who have been infect­ed with the coro­n­avirus are treat­ed at the Cen­tral Ostro­both­nia Cen­tral Hospital.

Over­all, 138 coro­n­avirus infec­tions have now been con­firmed in Cen­tral Ostro­both­nia hos­pi­tal dis­trict dur­ing the whole pandemic.
