Information on the 12th of April 2021 on the situational picture in Soite’s area when it comes to the coronavirus epidemic
The current situation of infection
One new coronavirus case has been confirmed in Soite’s area. The infection is connected to an earlier chain of infections and the infected person was already in quarantine. No new persons have thus been exposed to the virus.
The key figures in the situational picture have been updated:
- The number of coronavirus cases during the last 14 days: 17 (the previous number was 16)
- The incidence of infections during the last 14 days/100 000 citizens: 21.9 (the previous number was 20.6)
- No patients with COVID-19 are treated at the Central Ostrobothnia Central Hospital.
- 0.2% of the coronavirus tests are positive. During week 14, 1585 coronavirus tests were taken in Soite.
- The traceability of the chains of infection is 80 %

The coronavirus vaccinations of the citizens are progressing well in Soite’s area. Vaccinations are now progressing when it comes to all persons over the age of 65 and 18–64-year-old persons who belong to risk group 1 or 2 and have an illness or condition that is very highly or highly predisposing to severe coronavirus disease.
The telephone booking for coronavirus vaccinations opens again on Tuesday 13th of April 2021 at 12 p.m. and more appointments are also opened in the electronic Omahoito service on Tuesday at 12 p.m. Vaccination appointments are added to the electronic appointment booking even at other times if appointments are cancelled or if the number of vaccines suddenly increases. The Omahoito service is open 24/7. The days that still have appointments available are marked with green colour in the web calendar.
On Tuesday 13th of April, approximately 3000 vaccines become available in the booking system, and at this point, about 5000 persons have the right to a vaccination in Soite’s area.
In all, 30.1% of the citizens in Central Ostrobothnia health care district have now received their first vaccine dose. When it comes to persons over the age of 70, 88% have received their first vaccine dose.
Soite’s area has about 10 820 citizens who are 16–69 years old and belong to risk group 1 or 2. 40% of the persons in this group have now received their first vaccine dose. Persons who belong to risk group 1 or 2 are no longer listed separately in Soite’s corona vaccination indicator as a person may belong to both groups at the same time.
According to a preliminary plan, the coronavirus vaccinations continue in different age groups with five-year intervals. Each age group that is to be vaccinated consists of about 5000 persons in Soite’s area. The following group that gets the right to a vaccination are 60–64-year-old persons. We will inform about vaccinations for new groups more specifically later. You usually get an appointment for a coronavirus test for the same day. The coronavirus test result will be sent automatically to your mobile phone as a text message if you have agreed to this. You can also check your result in the Omakanta service. You have to stay in quarantine at home until you receive the test result.
