Three new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Soite’s area. The infections are connected to the chain of infections that was confirmed in Vasa. The infections have also led to a mass exposure of approximately 30 persons. The exposed persons have been traced and put into quarantine. All of the infected persons have only mild symptoms and they are cared for at home.
Overall, 58 coronavirus infections have now been confirmed in Central Ostrobothnia health care district during the whole pandemic. Approximately 250 persons are currently in quarantine in Soite’s area.
We gave information yesterday about a broader recommendation on the use of face masks in Soite’s area. As a preventive measure, we broadened the recommendation on the use of face masks to also apply to public spaces such as stores, upper secondary institutes and universities. The decision was made in the group of regional authorities that consists of the leading persons in Soite when it comes to the coronavirus, the Regional State Administrative Agencies, The Finnish institute for health and welfare THL and the Centre for Economig Development, Transport and the Environment.
