Two new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Kokkola and a mass exposure has occurred
Two new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Kokkola. One of the cases has led to a mass exposure. The infected person who is connected to the mass exposure is a pupil at the elementary school Chydenius skola. The infected persons are in home isolation, and those who have been exposed to the virus are being traced. At this point, however, it is clear that several dozens of people have been exposed to the coronavirus. The chain of infection is clear.
As a precaution, the pupils and the teachers in grades 3 and 4 in Chydenius skola are put into quarantine and distance education up until the autumn holiday 9.10.2020. All pupils and the teachers in grades 3 and 4 in Chydenius skola are tested on Sunday 27th of September 2020. Soite and Chydenius skola are contacting the persons who have been exposed. The city of Kokkola will inform the parents/caregivers about the teaching arrangements in Chydenius skola on Sunday 27th of September.
Exposure may also have occurred in the swimming centre Vesiveijari on the 23rd of September between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. If someone who has visited Vesiveijari at this time has symptoms that fit the coronavirus they should call Soite’s helpline on the coronavirus 06 828 7499 (open on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on weekends from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.).
Seven coronavirus infections have been confirmed in Soite’s area during the last two weeks. Overall, 47 coronavirus infections have been confirmed in the Central Ostrobothnia health care district.
